Taking some time out now from all my chair seating and centre cane commissions, aiming for some personal weaving projects and adventures in 2027…
Rushing a chair seat demands total concentration, the methodology and repeat movements of joining and twisting and assessing each coil makes you feel very absorbed in the moment. Taking the time to consider each coil and how it sits always trying to aim for perfection. I enjoy the texture of rush and feel very peaceful when I am on task. Additionally, I also undertake the re-caning of chairs using standard traditional methods and styles, plus weaving seagrass patterns on stools.
